I need some Felicity advice!

My premattel Felicity(got from eBay) had such thinning and dried out hair(SOGun didn't work!), that I just finished sewing(at the part) and gluing(the front portion) another Felicity wig on top of the old one. I did peel back and cut off about 1/2" of the original wig around the top hairline, so the new wig would lie flat against the head at the part.
I finished up the job by rolling with the velvet coated hot rollers. It looks great!
There are probably hair styles she can't wear but ribboning the hair back and leaving the hair loose both look good.
If you choose to buy an eBay Felicity for the wig, be sure you get some close up pictures of the back of the hair. You might consider buying a new Felicity from AG with the free shipping then sending the meet clothes back for a refund.
Though the new wigs are not the same shade of red as the older pre-mattel Felicity dolls.

Hmmm... this is a toughie. I might try to buy a wig from a wig shop first, and see if that looks suitable for Felicity and go to e-bay as a second option.

Anybody know where to get a good Felicity wig?

Felicity was my first AG doll and I got her in 1993. I took good care of her, but her hair is a mess. I've downy dunked and steamed twice and it's still just as dry as it can be. She's my favorite, but I don't like taking her anywhere or even brushing her hair because I don't want anymore to fall out- it's gotten so thin.

My question is, should I stop letting this bother me so much and keep her as she is, or... should I save my pennies and buy a red-haired Felicity from E-bay and take her wig?

I would buy the new Felicity a different wig so she wouldn't be bald. But, would I feel awful about it? I know they're dolls, but I don't know if I could take a Felicity's identity away from her. Should I be selfish about my own Felicity, or just forget the whole thing?

Any advice would be very appreciated!

I tried looking for a similar wig but could not find one that I was satisfied with both the color and length. I ended up using a wig taken from another pre-mattel Felicity doll. It was hard to get the wig off in one piece. About 1" in the front portion of the removed wig was damaged but the rest of the wig came off in one piece. It was the one I used to put over the old wig of the Felicity I described in my first post.

I think this non-AG wig is beatiful.

I too worry about getting the Felicity wig off in one piece, it might tear, but it's worth a try.

My suggestion is, before spending money on a new Felicity doll only to take her wig off, order one of these wigs. Maybe in carrot, and give it a try. If you don't like it, at least you know you tried.
